Can CitizenGO support the delivery of my petition?

Petition creators usually carry out the delivery of their own petitions. You can do so by sending the target of your petition an email with the link to your campaign and the list of signers, or by printing everything and sending the documents by mail or handing them over personally.

We want your delivery to be a huge success, so here are a few tips:

How to organize a great signature delivery:

  • Choose a date that coincides with a related event, or a media cycle on the issue, to get the most traction for your petition.
  • Contact your target and see if they will accept the petition themselves. If not, ask if someone in their office can do so. If still not, a political opponent who might support your campaign (the more high-profile the better).
  • Recruit experts on the issue to be at the delivery to lend weight to your petition.
  • Invite a crowd! Send out the invitation through your networks.

How to interest media:

  • Make it creative: Unusual themes or messages at an event make it more likely to interest a journalist.
  • Make it visual: The biggest news stories have great visuals. Have a photographer on hand, be mindful of how you set up the event from a photographic point of view, and make it colorful.
  • Make it easy: Have a brief press release (no more than one page) with images, if possible, to send to news agencies.
